Dalyan

On first sight this may seem surprising as Dalyan is not a "seaside" resort" but if you look at the factors below you will see the reason why a lot of smart money has moved into Dalyan.
  1. Only 25 minutes from Dalaman airport.
  2. Conservation area. Known World wide for the Carreta Carreta turle
  3. Strict building controls.Nothing over 2 stories high and percentage of build to plot size.
  4. Excellent holiday letting potential which brings in rents of twice what comparable properties in the seaside resorts bring.Seen as an "upmarket" resort.
  5. Low crime.
  6. Still retains a traditional Turkish "feel".
  7. Close to major "seaside" resorts and historical sites.
  8. Possibility of Turkey joining E.E.C.
All of these factors have meant very good investment returns for property and land buyers.
As an example, a plot of land bought for ?12,000 in 2002 is now (2005) worth ?57,000.
Smart investors are now buying on the outskirts of Dalyan, in villages and towns such as Okcular and Ortaca where prices are about 50% of Dalyan, although they are catching up quickly.>
